Nights out on Torquay Harbourside

I ventured down the harbour last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the nice vibe down there. Traditionally, the weekends running up to Easter are quieter but there seemed to be plenty of people out having fun last night. Torquay harbour is definitely a great place for a Saturday night out, these days. Plenty of great pubs, there is something for everyone.

We started by sampling the music at Ryans bar in Abbey Road, you’re always guaranteed a good band on Saturday nigh- and most other nights, for that matter. Was a little metally for my taste but looked fun, if you like that sort of thing!

On to the  Cider press is always the favourite as one of the few places on the main drag with a traditional  pub atmosphere. The best night for the cider (and my favorite night of the week) is Tuesday Jam night.

From here we waived Green Ginger ( great if cheap drinks and plenty of company) and Mambo (the hotspot for late night shinanagens) mainly because they both had queues.

Dropped in on Rude, stayed upstairs where they now have live music, it has a classy feel in contast to the highly atmspheric and divey but fun downstairs club.

On to The Green Room. this place has certainly ‘taken off’. Has the feeling of a party pub with style on a Saturday.

Jacket potato from the best Potato chef in Devon…..I kid myself- the world! – Check out his facebook group if you doubt my word: Baked potato man of Torquay.

You see- this is just a small sample of what Torquay habourside has to offer! You’d better come and check it out!
