And don’t forget that this Bank Holiday Torbay will be awash and a roar with Pirates and Bikers. Maybe there’ll be Pirates on Bikes somewhere between Paignton and Brixham cos don’t forget the Pirate festival in Brixham and the BMAD Bikers Festival in Paignton. You’d B MAD to miss it! Any stray Bikers are most welcome, we’ll save a spot in the back yard for your bikes. Not sure we have space for The Black Pearl but we can always find a corner for Johnny Depp ( most probably in the girl’s dorm)!

Of course we mustn’t forget the fantastic live music scene in Torquay and here is a quick summary of the weekly jam (open mic) nights.

Monday: Devon Arms, up Park Lane near the Harbour. Hosted by Si and Lauren.

Tuesday: The famous Cider Press Jam night, Fleet Walk. Hosted by Barnie and his possie of talented musicians. This is one of the best nights out in the Bay!
Tuesday: Ryans Bar, Abbey Road. Acoustic folk night. Chilled and intimate, a mellow alternative to the Cider Press.
Wednesday: Ryans Bar, Abbey Road. Blues jam night. There are always plenty of quality performers to entertain.

Wednesday: JDs bar, Fleet Walk, near the harbour. Emily, Tim and the Gman, play to thrill. Crazy covers and talented friends.

Thursday: Devon Arms, up Park Lane near the Harbour. Jazz night. Always has a quality jazz band/performer.

Fri/Sat/Sun
There isn’t much need for jamming to draw in the pubs cos everyone is out and about anyway. There is plenty of live music around though!

there is nowhere else in the uk you can do that – unless you want to be frozen or arrested.
-I like this website, almost as much as I like the friendly, home away from home that is torquay backpackers.
There are hundreds of jealous hostels out there.. staying here is the best thing a traveller can do in the uk.

So sunny today that I had a snooze on the beach and woke up too hot! Where else in the UK can you do that on 13th March? Come down and get a tan!

As a man on the move i always stop in travel inns or something boring except when i’m working in torbay. When ever i have the chance, work or pleasure i always stop at this backpackers. Most fun. I would say you need an open mind and have the ability to drink. If you tick these boxes then why are you wasting your time reading this. enjoy folks!!
